The Tale of Tibetan Mastiffs
They come from the high Himalayas, primarily from Tibet and the Chinese provinces that border it to the east
and some from Nepal and even from northern India. Tibetan Mastiffs are the ancient guardians. No one
really knows where the first guardian originated, but there is no doubt that they have been a part of agriculture
since the earliest, prehistoric days. The colors of dogs was not happenstance. The dark dogs were better able
to surprise nighttime intruders, whether four or two legged.
Our Breeding Program
- For the good of the breed, Alpha Diogi does not engage in in-breeding or line-breeding. For more
information on why this is important, please look at
The Canine Diversity Project.
- Puppies are born and raised in a loving home and family atmosphere.
- Alpha Diogi dogs benefit from a fenced area for more exercising and socializing.
- Tons of Tender Loving Care!!!!!
- Our TMs are registered with the AKC.
Want to learn more about the Tibetan Mastiff?
As an ancient large breed, TM females only come into season once per year, making puppies available only during the
winter months. They are a very intellegent and long lived (12-14 yr) breed that have been used as temple,
livestock and village guardians for hundreds of years.
We recommend researching this wonderful breed to anyone interested in owning/being owned by a TM.
